ld-fashioned picture book illustrations have always been a source of inspiration for me. JOURNEYS THROUGH BOOKLAND and MY BOOK HOUSE are volumes from childhood that left indelible marks on my style ( the background for this web page is drawn from their pages, not mine ). I try to combine these washed out, monochromatic colors with the bold, dynamic lines of wood engraving ( another publishing relic that attracts me ). However, without the patience, or the skill, required for such an unforgiving art, I have turned away from the past and plunged into the computer age. I call my ‘would-be’ woodcuts “DIGITAL WOODCUTS”.
Like the stories, the illustrations are works in progress. Displayed on this page, and on the Gallery Page is art from some of the 64 "TALES of the MYTHLEWILD".
